The SID-Fixer
I just talked to Lotus and it seems like the ball is rolling. Make sure to tell the geezers from Als (Devia + Lotus) if you are into this piece.

Some C64's have working sids but e.g. not working cia chips.. etc. I have such over here. I wish all of them were working though. |

Fungus: Heat sinks will not fit in all C64/C128 models - But, if you can fit them, buy some that fit your needs and mount them ;-)
Grue: All signals are routed through the CPLD.
Total Chaos: Yes, if you don't have spare SIDs of the desired model, you'll have to harvest... but you could consider it like you are just borrowing the SID and sending one of your trusty old C64s on a well deserved vacation in the closet ;-) |

wondering, there aren't any difference between PAL and NTSC machines regarding SID chips, are there?
I would think that broken NTSC machines might be affordable (due to the size of the market)?

These pamphlets were being handed out at Syntax party this weekend. I assume that means the project is alive and well?
Definitely interested

The project is alive and well.
We had a summer party where Lotus and Devia was optimizing the inner workings and design.
I'm guessing there wont be any production, before a number of orders have been received.
Since Devia dont have a website for this, i suggest you mail him what the status is.

I built a few SID2SID boards, but only got one working.
And there was no apparent reason why the others didn't work.
Hopefully with the SID-fixer, no such shit will happen. |

Yeah, some kind of feedback would be nice! I expressed interest to him, but never got confirmation. Probably never will make it past vapourware status, I guess... |
