Firstly, thanks for all kind words! :-)
Secondly, I must state that NO auto-dithering or other computer-automated conversion tool was used in the making of this picture. It took ~30 hours of pixelling in Project One to come up with the final result.

The dither pattern are pixelled by hand by me. The intention with those was of course to make such a smooth gradient as possible with the limited 16 colours, with a slight industrial/synth touch to the patterns. I used grafx2 to pixel the "step 1" picture, the rest of the work was done 100% in Project One.
Magnar: stating that pixelwork can be done with just some minor fixes after a conversion is perhaps the way that some people settles for, but I would say it's quite obvious what picture has and has not been created in such fashion.
I'm not surprised by the comments here, since I'm a beginner with c64 pixel art I have yet a long way to master the art of the Koala mode.

I agree, using Photoshop or a similar PC progs to compose images makes life easier. It is also possible to pixel push use Photoshop or similar PC progs. My personal dislike is the dither patterns conversion tools create. This is one area where the human touch works so much better :)

To be honest, the whole "wired/converted" comments thrown off by people nowadays is getting rather silly. Of course people use Photoshop and all kind of tools to make their pictures the best possible first, because those tools are easier to draw and compose in. Convertion can then afterwards be done with Project One from jpg to koala, and the results are striking good - only some pixel fixes here and there and color adjustments, and wow - it's done. However, there is LOT of work in composing these type of pictures even when you first use other tools outside the C64 domain. I mean, who actually use Koalapainter on a real C64 and a real joystick to pixel anylonger? It's just silly... Wired is the shit, and just keep silly comments about it away... IMO.

When I first laid eyes on Future Blind, my eyes were instantly drawn to the face and the shoulder.
Wired or not, the dither pattern bares the hallmarks of a convert. The big chunk of pink above the lip stands out like a sore thumb.
Ignoring that, I liked the theme. I liked the colour of the female set against the grey backdrop.
The hair looks good, and the wild whirly goings on to the left look great.
