A rare 10/10. Heads should roll at its position in this compo!

iLKke: No it's an almost 100% photorealistic depiction of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thylacine

Actually there was a large CRT just under the main projection, so people did not miss out on all the lovely flicker :D

A very clever little pic! Is that a PETSCII marsupilami on the right?

fantastic idea! I'm really jelous as aI was thinking about mixing flicker and noflicker parts on the image some time ago. now you have the world-first.
but I guess the problem at the compo was that all the details (flicker, hires vs multi, etc) was not visible on the big-screen/beamer.

@ Dr.J
The guys are in different gfx modes. The guy you mean is pure PETSCII! ;)

great work! your imagination brings
very cool ideas to execution , little wonder: why the bottom-right Kangaroo (who is staring on us) is drawn totally different from the rest of the objects like he was "beamed" or alike.
nevertheless very cool pixelwork

All i asked myself: Will the he flicker on a real machine, and indeed he does! :-) One of the greatest motif ideas i saw so far (except boobs, maybe :-P)

This is GFX awesome, and the party voters who made this place only 7th suck donkey dick and deserve to get only wired Vallejos until the rest of their days.

BEST HE-MAN in pixels EVER! The overall of this image is really cool and you created something different and should have been ranked higher of course!

Thanks all! I've had this idea ever since I start learning about the various formats and now it happened :) I think it turned out quite well given it was very much a technically driven experiment = less planning and more testing. It ended up as a completely different picture than I started with and I kind of rushed the various animals just to get it done.
@ilesj: Ahh, cool! Missed that one. I guess you "won" then :)
@hedning and deev: you're right both of you! And most of all: Interlace is ugly and unnecessary! ;)
@psycho8580: I promise

Deev: I rather see it as a comment to the wiring frenzy, calling their stuff art, and then you have original pieces, sceptical, looking at this "piece of art".

I think you've done better images, but I really like the concept! Should've finished WAY higher IMO. Showing the more realistic He-Man as a museum piece feels like a nod to the fantasy-styled C64 graphics of the past, where technical counted over creativity, and men with big muscles were everywhere!

Should've been much higher if not won! ;)

Very nice! I experimented with similar idea some time ago, but in NUFLI, In Soviet Party Picture Converts You. So no novelty points from me ;) Your picture is technically brilliant, as always! The different modes blend in perfectly, no conversion errors to be seen between them. To me the hires kangaroo lacks a bit in comparison with the rest of the creatures. Again, your PETSCII work is something to admire!

One of the most original ideas and execution I've seen for a while. Especially the fact that the stuffed humanoid is the only one moving gives it a totally surreal presence.

Excellent in so many ways, and it also shows how inferior all the modes are to PETSCII, gottal love that PETSCII animal :)
