Looks, like you converted it right, but set up background as black, while it should be light gray.

St0rmfr0nt, I had no problem with this bitmap from Mini Golf +2D using either SPOT 1.2 or SPOT 1.3. I tried the screenshot from CSDb as well as a PNG I saved from the game in VICE and the result was always correct. To prove this, I converted the koalas back to PNG and compared them in a hex editor and there was no difference. (Naturally, a PNG saved from VICE cannot be converted to koala without first cropping the border, but even cropping it to 384x264 pixels makes no difference.)

Of course it is not impossible that there is a bug in SPOT so it would be helpful if you could share the original bitmap you tried to convert and explain what you did (including the exact versions of SPOT you used). Thanks in advance!

Really like the tool. But v1.3 has errors. Here is an example. Original:

SPOT v1.3 optimized, but broken:

Go and try yourself...
With v1.2 all fine

I can't sing the praises for SPOT quite enough. Absolutely amazing results. That Sparta managed to make it even better baffles me.

Highly highly recommended. If you're making a demo and not using SPOT - you're doing it wrong :p

Hard to believe there was still room for improvements. I will never put any image to the production without running it through spot first.
