Just watched this on a real C64 with quite a big TV. First I have to say that this is an amazing piece of art on the C64. Thumbs Fucking up!! :D Then I have to mention, that, if you watch the Picture from the distance you will recognize that there is a big heart in the middle of the screen. Couldn't figure out how it could describe the feeling of "absence" though.
However, have to print this out and hang it on the wall! GOTCHA! :D |

@Blackdroid: i kind of agree with Jucke on this. I have seen expressionistic stuff from Poison before, you're right it not being abstract. But i do feel 'real' expressionism is hardly possible on the c64, and supposingly Poison did it 'the right way'. (i don't believe in expressionism with a joystick).
Nonetheless, this picture, whatever process it's been through, looks amazing. And looking at the comments, James takes the scene by his hand, and have had us make (yet) another step. |

@jucke: are you drunk and/or high ? afaik joe has only made _one_ interlace picture and that one was not a boris vallejo conversion. quite sad that joe still gets connected with a couple of vallejo conversions he made 1993. given the numerous pictures he has released since.
and since when did poison/oneway do abstract pieces ? |

| Nice conversion/retouch of what probably originally was a real oil painting by Joe. Very impressive and far out, but I am not raising eyebrows. Poison/Oneway did abstract c64 graphics with the impression of using oil/crayons/etc some ten years ago or more, but he did it freehand. I really dig this, but in my mind it's already "poison style c64 gfx", only this time by the master of boris. Way to go. |

| This one and also the previous one by Joe also is great. I almost never get impressed by C64 graphics, but this stuff is nice for sure! Perhaps a bit too "intellectual", but that's ok. |

| @Wile Coyote: The picture is a Joe's original done by hand, using acrylic paint, coloured pencils and inc on paper. Afterwards it was converted by hand (keyboard and Drazpaint). |

This is definitely not my kind of art. I'm too straight minded for colorful waves and stuff, but since most of you like it, I guess it must be cool in one or another way.
Btw: I'm also wondering about the spontaneousity of such a piece, how is an image like this one made? Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about wiring or alike. Seems to me that painting something like this on PC or C64 pixel-by-pixel is much less dynamic than doing it on canvas with paint. Just curious about the tehnique, as it's outstanding. |

Quite a troubling picture indeed... Took me a while to see two misformed heads through all that garbage... the right one seems to be puking and the left one seems to be temping the right one in some weird way
That's probably not what it is... I gave it my best shot :) (and for what it's worth, i'd rather be in beds of green ;)

Not my type of art. I would rather take boobs and dragons.
It looks more like quick dabling with tablet, a couple of photoshop filters, and conversion using thimanthes. But if it was hand painted then respect. |
