I keep coming back to this demo as an example of balance between code/music/graphics. The pace of the demo is perfect, fast, but long enough on each effect. And the dithered vectors are the smoothest around, really great work.

what a nice demo, it gives me energy and motivates me to learn more about the c64 .. respect...

Smooth demo! Perfectly linked together. GFX roxx.
I would say , more c64 wise than the winner at BP07.

Short but sweet. Very nice pixeled graphics, some cool effects also.

Just rewatched the demo once again. Man, if I could have sex with those dithered vectors I most definitely would!

Absolutely brilliant demo. It really has something that appeals to all demolovers - the true hardcore (even recordbreaking! :)) code, the design and graphics + great music, and all put together with a nice tempo - never a boring moment.
And I must agree with earlier posters, those dither vectors are just plain awesome!

best demo of 2007 I'd say ;)

love the original fade-in, the skewing effect and the dithered vectors. endtune is brilliant and so are the gfx from oys. simply top!

Fanta's main theme music shakes the earth when I play it. Incredible energy.

I still think this one should have won. Esp. the dithered vectors are very awesome, the whole thing is ace tho.

Oh, is there a hidden part somewhere!? glenzvector!? <:).

The glenzvectors were very cool. More of those - and bigger - in the next demo please. :) Great old school vibe in this one.

My whole brain fell silent when I saw the dithered vector. Then I imagined sitting at a demo competition seeing this and not knowing whether to sit in awe or stand and cheer, immediately afterwards I realized emptiness as the true origin of my own mind.

As for the huge rotation/skewing effect: I am always dismayed at how many demo 'technical' achievements can be put down wholly to cleverly organised conjuring tricks. This though, this is just excellent programming.

And I'm a Commodore programmer of 1983, compliments from me are hard to come across.

I must agree with Radiantx. Shaded vectors part is my favourite part right after "inside the cube". When watching the shaded vectors I'm wondering how was it done. Looks like some clever idea.

IM(very)HO the dithered flatshaded vectors near the end are among the greatest moments in C64 demo history. \o/

If anyone wants the .SIDS, I can send them to you, instead of harassing Steppe and Fanta! Just send me a PM...

It is a very nice demo. The music by Fanta is sweet! I love all of his stuff. What are the two songs called in this demo? How can I download the sids separately?

Big upz for the great music. The bassline has one of the fattest sound I ever heard coming from a SID. The vector part before the endcredits is just amazing. A truly pice of art.

Oooooooo, it's so great to see Axis on track again, the same goes for Yazoo!! I've been missing you... And OYS, I still love the frog and the sky to pieces, and you took my breath away many times in this demo. rOXYing!

It is great to see the true Oxy demo power again. Especially liked the inside vector part by Axis and the super-smooth flatshaded vectors by Graham with pretty gfxs and catchy music around them. :)

@edhellon thanks for your nice comment :) you know - we almost said the same. we knew you would be winning the compo - but its much more fun to lose vs a very nice demo like desert dreams is, instead of winning an easy compo somewhere else. this year the BP compo rocked da house. congrats to you for winning the compo - you deserved it

Graham does it again. :) After inventing so much new stuff on the C64 he kicks back with those vectors... Axis' plotrecord & supersmooth "inside vectors" are quite mindblowing aswell. Oys' and Yazoo's excellent graphics are just the icing on the cake for me. During the compo I told Oswald who was sitting next to me: you know Osw, if they win, I wouldn't mind it at all. Ok, maybe a little. :)

Edit: didn't realise the inside vectors were done by Axis. Doh!

After all I must admit that this demo *is* great! Most original c64 demo released at this year's Brepkpoint. Neat design, nice gfx and fresh coding from two of the legendary Oxyron coders (Graham and Axis). Good to see Oxyron kicking some major ass in 2007.
