Sequencer app is bugged to the point of being 100% unusable. If you create a new song, system crashes upon opening instruments, or creating a new pattern. Tried with a multitude of emulators (CCS64, Vice64, Mac Vice64) and emulation options, even tried gutting the demo tune in an attempt to work around it - still bombs if you try to do any real work (playback of the demo tune is all that works). If anyone has a working version, please let me know... although I own 3 MSSIAH carts (for the haters: they're great in the studio - not for winning compos), I still can't work in an emulator :-)

I don't know if anybody noticed or if the crackers are around and care, guess not, but the Mono app in this crack is bugged.

In the options, when you go to controls, and try to select POT instead of joystick, the app gets stuck. It works fine on Bassline or Sequencer.

Agree the C64 can make erhm, nifty things;)

I really like this logo, the background and the chosen colors.

Ed, Fatfrost: Thanks! ;-) It was a really nice coop production by me and Ptoing on X2006, where I originally just wanted to show him that you can actually do really nifty stuff with Amica Paint right on the c64 itself! 8)

Fakelabel release == negative tone ain't ok? It's expressing the opinion of the people being involved into the release and in this case we got the unanimous opinion that the program sucks.

Actually cracking groups release stuff for others to enjoy, annoy, entertain and in the long run allow people to make up their mind on their own.
It's not all about fame and points. :)
So whenever someone LIKES this program and someday wins an X music compo with tunes composed on proph - respect!

However, the program was tested by a graphician and the cracker has never seen anything else but DMC and Voicetracker before - questions left about the SDI choice? :)

--- YES, Messiah will be released as well - not sure yet if we can in time add it to the current 5 year masterplan though.
Might become 2012 (also depending on its initial release of course).

But why add a outdated sdi version?

Ian Coog: It's /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/Lepses.sid, which is probably why it's credited to "Unknown of HVSC" :)

It's (parts of the message, inclusion of SDI) kind of an arrogant & unpleasant thing to do, but nevertheless hammers down an important point: commercial software should be held to high(er) standard.

I wonder if cracks of crap new commercial games start appearing with a better free alternative included, whenever applicable :)

Who should I credit for the intro song? "unknown of HVSC"? wtf? :D

I admire the work that is put in this crack, but I don't like the negative tone of the accompaning note.

First of all I think you should be at least a little proud of a feat like this, but also, there's nothing really bad about Prophet64.
That is, if you put it in its right perspective!

It's not the ideal tool to compose SID files with, but that never was its goal in the first place.
A bit sad to add SDI and other composing tools to the disk... totally different objective.

The P64 cart is real fun to use in combo with a MIDI interface and 'real' musical instruments.

I'd download it with Evil Terrorist Balaclava on (and plastic AK-47 slung over shoulder, if I'm feeling extra evil)

Btw. nata back at csdb? (EDIT: clever...comments removed)

CSDB won't allow a near 6MB upload --- prophet64_dewf.zip should be available at:

ftp://ftp.scs-trc.net/pub/c64/Tools/Music/prophet64_dewf.zip

soon.

Apart - the program truely sux :)

Knoeki: P64 is fun and definitely worth the money they asked for it, but the cartridge isn't being sold or produced anymore, so your best bet would be this or paying a lot on ebay.

There is a new "version" coming out with a MIDI interface built into the cart (MSSIAH)

Submitted by FATFrost on 25 March 2008
just to get a general flavour for it, but true it would be nice to test the full vershon out before buying, but as i see they have now discontinued prophet64, and now have a new cart coming out with same software + 1 extra wave player and built in midi interface . sounds good!! so now i need to buy the real thing!

Fatfrost: demo version does not have all content. how can I try properly without testing features that the demo lacks ( i.e. sequencer )
User Comment
Submitted by FATFrost on 25 March 2008
@knookie, there is a demo version you can deelow from the prophet website.

as far as I know this is the result of more than a year work, so props to the guys who cracked this! \o actually I'd like to have it to see if it's worth to buy it, because 30 euro isn't that much, but if it's shit, then it's too much, really.

Yeah, if they actually cracked the sequencer I guess it must've been quite an elaborate job.

I'm actually kind of suprised that this one didn't surface earlier. It'll be interesting to see how (and if!) they have solved the bankswitching of the sequencer (MMC? Retro Replay? loader? recoded it?), which in all honesty is the only program out of the bunch which isn't readily extractable.

Ah, I actually own this software, but I'd love to run it without the cart inside, so good job on this one!

PS. I'd be happy if someone could pm me the cracked version or send it to linde.philip@gmail.com or PM me a link.
