| gpz just pointed out the hands are rather crude in comparison, and he's right! Her left hand is okayish, but her right is quite a pixelmess, especially by Archmage's standards! <:-) I totally didn't notice, been way too focused on the beautiful face and background! ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Krill on 19 December 2008 User Comment Submitted by d0c on 19 December 2008 User Comment Submitted by ne7 on 19 December 2008 User Comment Submitted by size on 3 November 2008
| Grattis Archmage. Veldig bra... Moro å se progresjonen i C64 scenen. | User Comment Submitted by Hein on 30 October 2008
| Composition wise it doesn't bring much, subject wise it's the best choice for a winning scene picture (girl caressing cube), technically totally über (who needs XMUFLI?), to me a deserved winner. | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 30 October 2008
| Mirage and Archmage, taking the pixelcraft to a science! Wonderful pixels, the longer i watch, the more i learn. | User Comment Submitted by Sasq on 29 October 2008
| Archmage seems to have access to a different palette than other artists... it all just looks so damn good. | User Comment Submitted by Mirage on 27 October 2008
| I'm just glad you decided to join our little c64 scene :) It could use a bit of beautiful fresh air now and then | User Comment Submitted by Oxbow on 27 October 2008
| Love the picture. Love the AKA. | User Comment Submitted by Optimus on 27 October 2008
| So nicely pixeled, so good colors, oldschool as I like it. | User Comment Submitted by Mace on 27 October 2008
There can be no doubt whether there was tracing or wiring involved: true pixel art!

My guess is that it's smelly French cheese. | User Comment Submitted by Jailbird on 27 October 2008
| Archmage did it again, an absolutely fantastic picture! A well deserved #1 spot! | User Comment Submitted by saehn on 27 October 2008
| Well-deserved first, challenged only by Deev's pic. Great job, inspirational! | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 27 October 2008
| being a fuckin' supporter of photorealism and advertisement like design, this one impresses me not as much as the deev's one for example. a little overhyped imho ;) | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 27 October 2008
| Yes, the right picture won! Visual pleasure deluxe! | User Comment Submitted by duce on 27 October 2008
| Congrats! Definitely the best picture at compo! | User Comment Submitted by oys on 27 October 2008
| AWESOME!!! simply fucking awesome. i have watched it many times now and it takes my breath away every time now. you rule! | User Comment Submitted by Archmage on 27 October 2008
Thanks for the nice words, guys. Much appreciated.
Deekay: eh... nope. I haven't played Portal. Perhaps I should. I refer you to the production notes I am about to write. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 27 October 2008
I had a hard time deciding between this pic and Duce's as the best in the compo!... Fucking brilliant flawless pixelstyle and great composition from Archmage, as always! I totally forgot to ask you on X, Håkon: Is this actually a rendition of GlaDOS of Portal, holding the much beloved Weighted Companion Cube?
P.S: I had not only one but *two* archmages in my Bard's Tale party back then! ;-) And they were so good that one of them singlehandedly took out the 400 Orcs behind that door in the final dungeon that was supposed to be the ultimate game over if you opened it! ;-D | User Comment Submitted by Dane on 27 October 2008 User Comment Submitted by Deev on 27 October 2008
| The best entry won! Archmage is the pixel star of this party, for this and also his work in the Instinct+Horizon demo. | User Comment Submitted by Morpheus on 26 October 2008
| A strong 10 goes out to this masterpiece. Gotta love that multicolour action! | User Comment Submitted by Leon on 26 October 2008 User Comment Submitted by art|work on 26 October 2008
| Great picture. Readability and use of color in this image are just perfect. Congrats Archmage ! | User Comment Submitted by Twoflower on 26 October 2008
| Very nice pic, one of the pieces which really saved the X2008 graphicscompo. Clear, nice contrast, good choice of color and a great composition which reminds me of Mirage's later works. | User Comment Submitted by Steppe on 26 October 2008
That facial expression, awesome! The composition and the colour, outstanding!
A well deserved winner really! | User Comment Submitted by _V_ on 26 October 2008
| Inspiring, Impressive! Looks like there's a new pixeling standard I need to start adhering to. | User Comment Submitted by Yazoo on 26 October 2008
| very good job - congratulations | User Comment Submitted by Shadow on 26 October 2008
If I count it correctly, this is the third graphics compo Archmage has entered since his C64-career began, and also the third first place. That is one impressive streak! :)
-edit- Doh! Forgot to comment the picture itself, but I guess everyone can see that it is brilliant, so no need to really ;) | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 26 October 2008
Archmage never fails to impress! ...but hey! Isn't that a pineapple chunk or a steaming marshmallow? ;)
