I love all tools which comes handy these days. Back in the 90:ies-00 I used to do spraycan butter-Steinberg
people asked me why I didn't use a scanner instead. Well, for sports I'd say and still do!

Nice Vanja!

I guess this is the pitfall... Because artists do use tools too, and when an artist release something that is better than what one really think the hardware or skills do let be in quality we often say that there has to be some automatics here. I have created a peice that maybe some will say looks like machine calculations in there but that will be based on totally different values than in this image with more random pixels put... Over time I think mairmaid has done quite good and prooven that she is using difernt thought patterns in graphics and pixelating than alot others... mine is more mathemathical correct, because in zoom mode that is what I am... abit more math orientadet... I can not compute in mind all the colurs and combinations of colors that alot of c64 artists do use and I often do not see human brain logic when they sway from pixel patterns to line patterns and so on, but I see that with clever alterations in p1 and thimantes I often get simular results like they have in their images...

With vanja it is different... first of all the images themself tel a story and often do not make me think, hey I have seen this before... I think they are hers... and then from her scetshes I guess only the one in the sky knows how to get to the final result but to me if she say they are hand pixeled and done propper I do beleive her...

Over time... over time an artist will portray as the artist he or she is and too me it feels like vanjas creations were created with her skills and with her workflow in a way... originals I would call those peices..

PAL, NTSC, SECAM or what ever!

Quoting DeeKay
algo: not to belittle Merm's pixelskills, but: Timanthes enables you to work with these colors automatically, like solid colors! 8) Great feature IMHO, especially that extra-dark grey really is *very* useful quite often..
<_mirage_> he is talking nonsense

There you have it, from the man himself, there is no such function in Timanthes!

DeeKay: It does? Must be a newer version than what I'm using then, I never saw that function anywhere and all my stuff is done "by hand" so no credit to Timanthes for that in this case I'm afraid.

Great picture and I love the way you have utilised the PAL color mixing to generate 'extra' colors deliberately :-)

Like Sheep, this is another example of solid pixel alchemy. A moment of wonder... thanx Vanja! My son will love this! :)

The way you've achieved depth is just brilliant.

Hell yeah! Copy party! \O/ This is definite proof that you don't need any superduperresolution to make detailed gfx on the c64.

Incredible, I'm out of words! I rarely copy C64 graphics to my SD card to watch it on the real thing right away. I rarely yell down two floors to my wife to get her ass up to my 64 to watch that freaking unbelievable picture. You made my day, thanks Vanja!

Somehow Mermaid's pictures are getting worse and worse! While the previous one was only missing a snake and a sword, this new picture has neither dragons, chicks, snakes or swords!

Honestly, I love it :D

I've given my vote but haven't commented on this one. Somehow Vanja caught me on a zx spectrum irc channel (which I normally never visit) with a different handle and blamed me for not seeing and commenting on this picture :p ok, here it is Vanja. YOU ROCK!!! (Quack Quack) :D
