This enhanced version is due to the emulation of > 512 KB size REUs in the 1541u. The MOS 8726 REC of the original REUs was limited to 2^19 bytes adress-space. Even the rare 2 MB enhancements, the REU1750XL, were limited to 512 KB for DMA access (and the autoload feature that I use). The REU emulation in 1541u mimics this original REC chip as well and hence shows that behavior. Vice, as of 2.2, however does not - but for the moment the lack of wrapping after 512 KB is considered a bug. This version will now work with and without wrapping, so any filesize up to 16 MB can be mastered back to tape. Either in vice, or with the 1541u or future hw that emulates REU. This tool will of course also work with 512KB or the 2 MB REUs, but it delivers no code to load the data into REU, which would be a real pain via floppy disks. So in the end, this is not a stock c64 tool.
