Release id #240239 : Uridium +7DH [any drive fix]
This should not be marked as re-crack this time IMO because it still contains everything from the Remember version, just adds the drive number fix to the hi-saver. Previous releases from him were missing things and credits to the original work. |

I admit that "morally" there's a difference between
a) fixing existing cracks while leaving original credits intact (which seems true for the release in question) and
b) pretending to have cracked sth but in fact only introslapping other people's work
Moral and quality do not matter for defining database categories, though.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. Though I recall we talked about definitions over and over here on the forums, manipulating an existing crack instead of cracking sth yourself, _IS_ recracking. And if anyone doing it feels bad about being told so, well, just get an original and crack it from scratch.
Flagged it "Import" for the time being... though I'm aware, that the discussion about that category wasn't much less controversial than about re-cracks. |

Since original intro and etc is on it, I agree with calling it an import and not a recrack. |

It's even less of an import than a recrack though :) |

Well importing died with the internet, what else do you want to call it when there is no new tags being made. |

Doesn't really matter what i want to call it. What would matter is the definition for what either "Import" or "Recrack" means in this database.
Not that it will ever be defined :) |

Wouldn’t a recrack just be an unauthorised additional crack, with or without attribution? If permission is given, it could be a “co-op”?
Like, I’ve noticed that when a group releases a broken crack (which has been common for certain groups in recent years), the other groups aren’t just re-cracking those and fixing it. |

Oh come on groepaz, recrack is theivery and the person doing that is generally regarded as an ass and lamer.
Fixing bugs in cracks from people who are retired isn't the same thing at all. |

That doesn't change what i said, at all. See the definition for "crack" in this database. |

Well I am not interested in what this db terms what things are because it can't be changed and is often inaccurate. That was the whole point of discussing the tags and stuff. The database can be better, but it never will be if it can't be changed... |
