Music and AI

Some AI-stuff generated using the Sonauto.

I prompted the general story and music style and after some tweaking and regeneration, this is what came out.

The Whiterun Walls.

Forbidden Forest

I am so impressed, and they'll only get better. Also, this stuff is addictive as hell.

A SID LLM is inevitable as Agent Smith would say.

suno ai is also insane. https://www.suno.ai/ atleast they wont get rid of SID composers ;) unless someone tries to do a SID LLM (as mixer said)

i have an idea on how using chatgpt and an existing SID player ASM

im thinking about training an ai like chatgpt on the pattern and sequence of an existing asm routine (or decompilation) teaching it how it works, the limitations, and what it needs (like eg $00-$3f could be notes and then maybe $80-$bf is duration) so i tell it that, and then it spits out something that can be put into said ASM routine, and then compiled (probably the result is ass but still cool) i honestly wanna do it when i get the motivation :D

Aren't LLMs quite fundamentally not able to reason and actually invent working code, but rather draw from some large pool of sampled boilerplate code to interpolate to utter shite? =)

That suno.ai is very good.

Dump the sid writes - tokenize the register/value writes and pauses in between as you would tokenize character based text. Might work, might need some filtering/fixing before and after. Should try. Inevitably.

my idea is not to make it code the routine itself, but write byte statements for a song, eg something like

.byte dur3, bass, Cj1, Dj6, dur6, kick, Df2, $ff

so it will generate stuff like that, which you would stick into the music routine of choice you used to train the LLM on, then you would compile that, and there, an AI generated SID song!
