OS X pixel drawer
Anyone know if there is a drawing program like DPAINT available for the mac? Or even something like paintshop pro? |

I've just been using photoshop (overkill, I know). Pen tool, requant to Pepto's palette from time to time, convert with custom scripts.
Started a Timanthes competitor in Python+glut a while back, but never finished it - only really got as far as two panes, one of any pixel any c64 colour, the other a live preview of FLI conversion, and a round-nibbed brush tool for 50/50 blends... |

Good old GraphicConverter has all the DPaintish pixelling tools that one may need, also palette optimization/reduction etc. It has no specific VIC-II format support, though. Still I suggest give it a go:

GraFX2 all the way. It's the closest you can currently find to DPaint or Brilliance, and it's multiplatform, free and open-source.
Not sure how well the Mac port is keeping up with recent development, but you should be fine.
